After completing a psychology degree at the University of Chicago and spending a year abroad, Ruth Baerman worked as a computer programmer on various applications, including trading. This sparked an interest that led her into the commodity futures business. She joined Jack Carl Futures in 1996 shortly before its acquisition by Man Financial, where she worked until November 2011. While working full-time at Jack Carl, she completed a family history project as her thesis for an interdisciplinary arts master’s degree at Columbia College Chicago.
In December 2011 she joined RCM. Ruth's clients are self-directed, or participants in the managed futures space, at various levels of the alternatives spectrum. Her focus is heavily service-oriented. She holds Series 3, 7 and 63 licenses.
