This group of food and fiber markets behaves very similarly to the grain markets.  Planting tends to be the strongest time of the year for prices, with highs typically made during pollination, and lows established just prior to harvest.

This group tends to be segregated from the rest of the commodities because the bulk of production is done outside the United States.  Because production is centered in Third World countries, statistics regarding production are not as reliable as those that come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). However, major market indicators revolve around crop reports, trading trends, auction sales, international news, and even weather news.
